AI Safety Connect at UNGA 2025
A series of high level convenings driving international collaboration on the governance of advanced AI systems, held at the United Nations headquarters, The Yale Club and Westend Labs during General Assembly week.
The Event
Three events across UNGA AI Week brought together senior diplomats, AI governance experts, frontier lab leaders, and policy scholars in the UN Delegates Dining Room, Yale Club and Westend Labs. The programme featured keynote addresses from Prof. Yoshua Bengio (lead author of the 2025 International AI Safety Report) and Prof. Anthony Aguirre (Executive Director, Future of Life Institute), and ministerial opening remarks from Singapore, Finland, Korea, India, and the UN.
The programme included: the headline AI Safety Connect convening with panel sessions and a fireside discussion on red lines for AI; a dedicated high-level briefing on the 2025 International AI Safety Report; and a closing reception designed to strengthen the connections made across the week and align on next steps.
